Took an unexpected road trip to Philly last weekend to see my adult son who is moving back to LA soon, so of course I contacted BoMF to see if I could join them in a run. As it turned out, they don't run on Saturdays again until September but they were hosting the annual picnic and invited my family and me! It was awesome. I was able to meet some current participants and some successful graduates of their chapter!
This is Paul who is very happy to be part of the group there. BoMF logs miles of participants and celebrates milestones. Paul was sporting a tee-shirt boasting his 175 logged miles but was quick
to let us know he is closer to 200 now.

It was fantastic to meet some of the administration of the Philly chapter, Ramon Laboy III and Elyse Venturella, pictured below with my family and me. The coolest thing was that Ramon is coming to Gibsonville in early September to marry on his fiancee's grandfather's farm. Several other BoMF members are coming down also so hopefully we run with the Downtown Dashers together that weekend.

I didn't have time to check out the actual marathon route, but I did run in my son's neighborhood in South Philly 3 times. There was a constant line of folks waiting to have their picture made with a statue of Rocky which I didn't quite understand, but I did take the photo op of me running the stairs!
